When a loved one needs home care, it affects everyone.

Whether it’s a spouse, parent, or grandparent, caring for someone at home is a full-time responsibility and often an emotional rollercoaster. Many family members take on the role of carer out of love, but quickly find themselves exhausted, overwhelmed and unsure where to turn.

That’s where home care comes in.

At Homelium, we understand that providing support isn’t just about helping the individual, it’s about supporting the whole family.

Our trained carers step in to offer professional, compassionate assistance, giving loved ones peace of mind. Whether it's helping with personal care, medication, mobility, or simply offering companionship, we ensure that every client is treated with dignity and respect.

But just as importantly, we support the people behind the scenes, the partners, sons, daughters and friends doing their best every day.

We had the pleasure of speaking with our Homelium West Sussex client Christopher, and his lovely wife Sarah to find out how they feel about the Homelium service. It was great to hear how happy Christopher is and the progress he’s made since our carers have been helping him at home.

To read Christopher's home care journey, take a look at the blog link below:

Sarah spoke about how respectful and caring the carers have been to not just her husband, but also to herself! “The carers are lovely, they always acknowledge me in the house and if I’m upstairs getting they are so good they come in and they just get on with what they’ve got to do”

“Christopher is much more outward looking since he has had the care. He’s more keen to get up and get going. When he returned from hospital he was a different person because he wasn’t able to do much for himself. Now things are calmer and he is starting to improve which is positive and all the help has been really good”

“I think really it’s just having people we didn’t know in our home and the lack of privacy but I found everyone has had great respect for Chris and me in our home. It was marvelous right from the start. I think we go comfortable quite quickly put it that way!”
